Table 5 – Rulers of Assyria
This table shows the Assyrian Kings that were concurrent with the divided kingdom. Sargon II was the Assyrian King who eventually brought down the Kingdom of Israel who finished off the invasion started by Shalmaneser V in 725 B.C. The starting date for each king is his ascension year or year 0. The first full year of the king's reign, or year 1, is the following year. Taking Assur-dan II as an example, he took the throne in 935 B.C. as his ascension year, but his first official year (year 1) was actually 934 B.C. |
