There are several variations of the chronology of ancient Egypt. This one by PETER A. PICCIONE, PH.D. - Chronology and King-Lists of Ancient Egypt and the Near East falls in line with Biblical events as do the chronologies of several others not shown here. The timing of Dynasties XII to XVIII is crucial to the time of the patriarchs, the Hyksos and Israel's time in Egypt and the Exodus. The New Kingdom (1570-1070) shown below contains dynasties XVIII, XIX and XX. A strong case for the dating of these New Kingdom dynasties can be found in the following article. You can readily purchase the book In Studies in Honor of George R. Hughes on the internet. Pay particular attention to the length of the reign of Thutmose IV. Wente, E. F. and Van Siclen III, C. C. "A Chronology of the New Kingdom." In Studies in Honor of George R. Hughes. Studies in Ancient Oriental Civilization. Vol. 39, pp. 217-262. Chicago: The Oriental Institute, 1977.
